2017 Accomplishments OHFA once again assisted individuals affected by HIV and AIDS through Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS grants. OHFA also provided $5 million in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds across the State. The funds created 145 units of affordable rental housing and 4 homes for low-income homebuyers, as well as assisting 55 families with down-payment assistance. Additionally, National Housing Trust Fund allocations created 83 units for Oklahomans at 30% of the Area Median Income or less. In 2017, OHFA allocated $9 million to build 1,027 Tax Credit rental units for families at 60% or less of the Area Median Income. OHFA’s Performance-Based Contract Administration (PBCA) program made $74.4 million in Housing Assistance Payments in 2017. This assisted 12,764 families living in 169 properties. Twelve participants completed Family Self Sufficiency requirements in 2017. Through the Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program, four families became homeowners. OHFA served more than 10,000 households each month with the Housing Choice Voucher Program. With OHFA Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance, 727 loans were closed. Lack of downpayment is often a major obstacle for potential homeowners. With the Oklahoma Housing Trust Fund, OHFA provided construction loans of $1,600,000 to construct 15 houses for sale in Clinton and $425,000 to purchase land for 30 tiny homes for low-income renters.
